Now this might sound pretty scary, but I titled this one to strike fear to the heart of a single guy who thinks that playing games or writing blogs on his laptop is innocuous. Ask any one you know who knows anything about laptop computers and they will attest to you that any laptop emits radiation in one form or another. I have seen the new iPad tested for radiation and it actually passed with flying colors since it uses advance technology on how to control and diminish radiation. But older versions of laptops don’t have that technology and has been proven to emit an electromagnetic field or EMF that has been studied to have the potential to cause cancer or mutation to cells. And when you use a laptop on your lap regularly, you may want to check that sperm count because that EMF from your laptop can surely lessen and affect your sperm count dramatically.
There are studies that were done but nothing as of to date that can actually pinpoint this as a major contributor for such adverse effects in your health. But with all these research around, it is well within being wise to take heed and just avoid using your laptop so close to your body. I used to use my Mac book very long hours in writing blogs and ebooks, and sometimes due to the lack of a decent table when im mobile, I do my typing in my lap. After an hour of usage, not only can feel my hands are all warm and tired because of the heat being emitted by my computer, but also my legs felt really tired because of the heat that was emitted from the bottom as well. It made me feel terrible and plain common sense told me, this might not be the best idea when it comes to my health. Although there is a fan to reduce the heat, I decided this is not the way to go in long term use. When I got my Macbook insurance along with my new Mac, I read that it will generally insure Macbook for any damages or even liquid related damages, and it got me thinking, “lucky machine, it has coverage. But what happens if I get cancer using this in my lap regularly! I have no insurance for that!” So if getting insurance for Macbook is an intelligent decision for my part, buying a table and putting my Mac there instead of my flesh I thought would be another intelligent thing to do, from a prevention’s point of view.
